Although "cheap" is probably the last word anyone would want used in describing the college they attend, it's probably the best word that could be used to describe HOW you should go to whatever college you choose to attend!

Neither financial aid nor scholarships is something everyone qualifies for (and those who qualify for each often think they didn't receive enough).  I do think, however, one thing every college student (and most likely, their family too) wants is to keep control of as much of their money as possible.

This web site will provide suggestions, ideas and advice that can help you do just that - spend less on school.  Some of the ideas will save several dollars at a time, others only pennies.  But what is important to understand, is that many ideas with small savings, coupled together and carried out over time will result in significant savings.  You may not feel the difference at the time, but if you continue to utilize these savings strategies throughout college, you'll save money and keep control of more of your own money - and "go to college cheaper."

We'd love to hear from you also.  If you have suggestions or strategies that save you money, please share them with us - we'll share your ideas with others.  Simply e-mail lance at collegeprep101 dot com, and type "go to college cheaper" in the subject line.

Although it isn't inexpensive, a study abroad experience can be something that sets one student apart from others in the job search process.  Read this article about how students should go about selecting accommodations in London, England for college or study abroad experiences.
